Planning Your Visit

Groceries & Supplies:

Major grocery stores, gas and other necessities are located in Silver City and include the Silver City Food Co-Op, Albertson’s, and Walmart Super Center. Plan to stop here on your way to the ranch for your main groceries.

Be sure to fill up your gas tank in Silver City, too. There is gas located at Tienda del Sol in San Lorenzo, which is the closest gas station to our home (about 30 minutes away).

There are several smaller, locally-owned stores more conveniently located for grocery staples and other supplies:

Lake Roberts General Store, open seasonally, is located within walking distance. Beer & wine, ice cream, ice, grocery staples, fishing supplies, and other necessities may be found here.

Living Harvest Bakery & Three Questions Coffee, open year round, Tuesday through Saturday from 7 am until noon, features amazing homemade breads from wheat ground on the premises just before baking, muffins, and sticky buns, granola, nut butters, and local coffee. They also have a wonderful all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast.

Mimbres Market is open year-round on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 11 am to 6 pm. This lovely little market features all organic items from fresh produce, dairy, local meats to snacks, baking staples, and more.

Tienda del Sol, open year round every day and located in San Lorenzo (just south of Mimbres) includes a small grocery store and market as well as a full-service restaurant and gas.

The weather at Sapillo Creek Escape is truly lovely. Due to our elevation, we enjoy four gentle seasons, low humidity, and a temperate climate. For more information, please visit these sites to view current temperature as well as monthly averages:
